MyPingPongBuddy began with a table tennis player who wanted to spend less time retrieving balls during robot and multi-ball practice.

The first prototype was tested at Olympic TTC, now Nevada Table Tennis, in Las Vegas. The patented design has been hand-assembled in the USA since.
US Patent 8,534,726 B2 was granted September 17, 2013.
